ICSE 98 Workshop on Software Engineering over the Internet http://sern.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/~maurer/ICSE98WS/ICSE98WS.html Organizing Committee ------------------------- Frank Maurer, University of Calgary, maurer@cpsc.ucalgary.ca (Primary contact) Mikio Aoyama, Niigata Institute of Technology, mikio@iee.niit.ac.jp Peter Rösch, IESE, roesch@iese.fhg.de Giancarlo Succi, University of Calgary, Giancarlo.Succi@enel.ucalgary.ca Richard Webby, Center for Advanced Empirical Software Research, r.webby@unsw.edu.au Workshop description & Call for Papers ---------------------------------------------- The workshop covers Internet-based support systems for software development and their application in world-wide distributed software projects. Submissions may cover all phases of software engineering: e.g. requirements engineering, system analysis, design, testing, implementation, and maintenance. The submission of case studies is also encouraged. Submissions may be abstracts (2-4 pages) or full papers (up to 20 pages). Topics of interest are (but not limited to) - web-based software process modeling environments - distributed process enactment - replication support for software documents - distributed data repositories - knowledge management for SE projects - internet-based experience factories - world-wide configuration management support - groupware support for software development - project coordination support - internet-based around-the-clock software development - distributed testing environments - collaborative system analysis and design - improved internet-based traceability support - distributed change impact analysis - developing and maintaining large-scale software libraries Papers should explicate the technical issues related to the Internet. Research papers shall demonstrate the feasibility of the approach and describe the state of realization. Case studies and applied papers shall discuss the key factors which made the system work and successful. They also shall mention the pitfalls and problems encountered so that the readers may prevent to run into the same dead ends. Schedule ---------- (for planning purposes: Send a short notification of your intension to submit a paper NOW to maurer@cpsc.ucalgary.ca) Submission deadline: January 12, 1998 Deadlines for reviews: February 16, 1998 Notification of acceptance for presentation: March 1, 1998 Workshop date: April 25, 1998 Authors are also encouraged to submit papers for the special issue on "Software Engineering over the Internet" of the IEEE Internet Computing magazine. For more information, see the editorial calendar and the authors guidelines. http://www.computer.org/internet/edcal.htm http://www.computer.org/internet/ Paper submission -------------------- Submission format is HTML. Submissions will be accessible via this WWW page for the peer review process. Submitting authors are granting the permission to make the paper accessible for the public via the Web. Send the URL of your submission via e-mail to Frank Maurer (maurer@cpsc.ucalgary.ca). Submissions will then be downloaded to the workshop's web site to be available for the review process. Review procedure --------------------- Peer review - submitting authors are required to review other submission. A review form will be available on the Web. Final selection of presentations is made by the organizing committee. -- Dr. Frank Maurer University of Calgary http://sern.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/~maurer
