SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS The Second Workshop on Rigorous Object Oriented Methods ROOM 2 http://www.comp.brad.ac.uk/research/room/ University of Bradford Bradford, West Yorkshire, UK 29 May 1998 The second workshop on Rigorous Object Oriented Methods is aimed at bringing together researchers in the area of OO analysis, design and implementation with particular emphasis on increasing the quality of OO development through the use of rigorous techniques. These techniques include, but are not limited to: - semantics for OO Analysis and Design notations. - enhancements of OO methods to enable reasoning about their models. - verification and validation of OO A&D models and programs. - proposals for new formally based OO A&D notations. - OO refinement throughout the development life-cycle. Research results which are applicable to the emerging UML standard are particularly encouraged. The workshop will include an invited talk from Alan Wills on Component Architectures which aim to facilitate reuse. Submission Details ------------------ Papers should be at most 20 double-spaced pages in length, should have an abstract of approximately 250 words and a separate cover page indicating the title and authors. Papers will be judged on the basis of their relevance, significance, originality, correctness and clarity. Submitted papers must present original work and must not be under simultaneous review for any other conference or journal. Papers must be written in English. The Computer Journal has expressed an interest in publishing the best papers which are presented at the workshop. Publication will be subject to the normal Computer Journal reviewing process. Papers should be sent to any member of the organising committee by 5:00 PM February 27 1998. Electronic submissions in platform independent postscript are preferred. The cover page must clearly identify the author's name, address, phone and e-mail address. Submissions should be accompanied by a cover letter that includes a return mailing address, telephone number and email address.
