A large percentage of software engineering activity is in dealing with existing software. Software maintenance, reuse, reverse engineering, and re-engineering are expensive activities. A significant part of this cost is in program comprehension. This workshop will explore the theoretical, methodological, and technical issues of program comprehension. It will be a meeting of researchers and practitioners from academia and industry. Extended abstract and papers are invited, including but not limited to, the following topics: * program visualisation and animation; * theories and models for program comprehension; * processes and strategies for program comprehension; * experiments related to program comprehension; * knowledge representations for program comprehension; * tools facilitating program comprehension; * reverse engineering to support reuse, comprehension, and maintenance; * program comprehension in the large; * case studies; Information for Authors Extended Abstracts/Papers due 31st May 1996 Acceptance Notification 14th June 1996 Submit three(3) copies of an extended abstract of no more than 1000 words. Abstracts can be submitted in electronic form in (standard) LaTeX, or uuencoded Word documents, or in postscript.
